Jean Tennant has been writing professionally for more than 30 years. She started with newspaper and magazine articles, then had several novels published. For the past several years she's taught writing at community colleges and adult education centers, and has started her own small publishing company. As publisher and editor she produced the popular anthology, "Walking Beans Wasn't Something You Did With Your Dog: Stories of Growing Up in and Around Small Towns in the Midwest," and has several more books in the works.
As a certified meditation teacher, she also offers presentations on using regular meditation to decrease stress and increase creativty. She speaks regularly to groups of all sizes throughout the Midwest, specifically on the topics of writing and meditation.
Nearly two dozen Faribault-area writers at all levels of writing experience participated in Jean Tennant's writing seminar. The results were very positive, with evaluation comments ranging from "highly practical and valuable," to "an excellent presenter with a great variety of information," to "Jean's advice was very inspirational." We already have people inquiring when her next seminar will be! We look forward to having her in Faribault again.Jeff Jarvis, Enrichment Coordinator
The class was wide-ranging, covering all aspects of writing, as well as publishing and promoting. The instructor knows her subject well and was encouraging to all.Nancy V. Owatonna, MN
